Learn the essential principles of Pilates - concentration, centering, breathing, isolation, routine, precision, control and flowing movement. It is the place to start and can be the level to stay at if you have any underlying medical/orthopaedic problems. Spinal pain and other orthopaedic conditions can often be effectively managed through exercising at this level. Each exercise can be modified as required to an easier or more difficult version to allow for individual variation, injury, etc... Uses small equipment to assist/resist movement and provide variety to the classes.
Progression to Intermediate level is appropriate after a Beginners course when the basic principles have been learned and the particpant can maintain and control a neutral lower spine in the double table top position.
